Beauty For Ashes

Beauty For Ashes

Colette is a French writer who got Nobel Prize nomination and she was the first writer who got honored with a federal funeral in France.

Her life is a process of breaking taboos, embracing fierce independence and expressing infinite creative energy stored in her body!  She divorced her first husband who forced her to write and published her books with his name .......She was deeply abused,  badly betrayed and severely taken advantage of........but no matter what, colette never stopped writing. She wrote till the end of her life and won world's respect!  Her third husband felt that her life was so wounded, but she, herself said: My life is truly beautiful, only wish I could know this earlier.....

Same thing happened on the other side of the world: Yayoi Kusama was abused by her mom when she was very young and her creativity was banned. she was forced to follow her daddy and witnessed him sleeping with different women..and she became the outlet of her mom's ferocious anger......But she has this indomitable spirit, devotion and faith for creativity ..... eventually she and her arts conquer the world: she creates a  heaven of colors.....Her endless polka dots are like the ladder to heaven and the ladder into the rabbit hole of Alice in the Wonderland....

These two women both said a fierce YES to creativity. And with life-long arts creation practice, there is no trace of any trauma left in them. As Kusama also said:   I think I will be able to, in the end, rise above the clouds and climb the stairs to Heaven, and I will look down on my beautiful life........

Both artists' life is a tribute to Art's healing power and the unbeatable life force, which may went through hell-like life experiences and emotional torture, but it never dies....It will soar like a phoenix and replace ashes with beauty!

Yes, replace ashes with beauty!
